Mexico decriminalized drugs! Why is it still so violent there with people killing each other over the drugs?

I didn't know that Mexico had decriminalized drugs; but the market is in countries that have not decriminalized drugs - notably the U.S.A. That's were the money is, and that's what they are fighting over.
